European plastics value chain, represented by European Plastics Converters, Plastics Recyclers Europe, and Plastics Europe, welcomes the relaunch of the Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA) as a critical opportunity to get Europe’s plastics circularity ambitions back on track. At a time of growing pressure on the sector, renewed political focus from the European Commission and Member States must now translate rapidly into concrete action. We hope that the high-level meeting taking place today will be an important step towards that.

Europe and its industry cannot afford hesitation. Investments are already moving elsewhere, and site closures and job losses are accelerating across manufacturing sectors. This is a decisive moment: Europe must move from diagnosis to delivery – not next year, not next week, but today. Industry urgently needs concrete, predictable actions.
