The Waste Shipment Regulation (WSR) is a key instrument for supporting the EU’s circular economy objectives and for integrating recycling into European supply chains. To unlock its full potential, the WSR requires an enabling framework for intra-EU shipments of recyclable plastics that diverts valuable materials away from incineration and landfill, improves access to specialised recycling capacity, and supports investment in innovative recycling technologies
Against this background, the following priorities should guide the implementation of the WSR.
