PlasticsEurope, the Pan-European trade association representing plastics manufacturers, launched today its Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) annual Progress Report taking stock of the advancements made by our members together with the value chain towards ending pellet loss in any environment.

The Global Plastics Alliance (GPA) released its 5th Progress Report announcing close to 400 marine litter prevention projects have been planned, underway, or completed as of early 2020. The GPA, a collaboration among plastic industry associations around the world, said the accounting of projects represents an increase of four times the amount since 2011 when the group was formed.

Following recent negotiations in the European Council, EU leaders agreed on a non-recycled plastic packaging waste levy to be introduced from 1 January 2021 as part of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2021-2027.
