European plastics value chain, represented by European Plastics Converters, Plastics Recyclers Europe, and Plastics Europe, welcomes the relaunch of the Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA) as a critical opportunity to get Europe’s plastics circularity ambitions back on track. At a time of growing pressure on the sector, renewed political focus from the European Commission and Member States must now translate rapidly into concrete action. We hope that the high-level meeting taking place today will be an important step towards that.

Plastics Europe, the Pan-European trade association representing plastics manufacturers, today announces the appointment of Rob Ingram, CEO of INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe, as its President, effective 1 January 2026. Ingram succeeds Benny Mermans, Vice President Sustainability at Chevron Phillips Chemical, and will spearhead efforts to drive circularity and strengthen the competitiveness of Europe’s plastics industry.  

Plastics Europe today, 26 June 2025, announces the appointment of Benny Mermans, Vice President Sustainability at Chevron Phillips Chemical, as its President, with immediate effect. He succeeds Marco ten Bruggencate, President of Dow’s Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure business, EMEAI.
