De plastics producerende en verwerkende bedrijven kunnen hun duurzame innovaties weer in de spotlights zetten. Door tastbaar te maken hoe zij definitief de weg richting duurzame en circulaire plastics zijn ingeslagen dingen zij mee naar de Rethink Awards 2023. Deze worden uitgereikt op 20 september, tijdens de Kunststoffenbeurs in de Brabanthallen in Den Bosch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met de Rethink Awards geven de Federatie NRK<\/a> en Plastics Europe Nederland elke twee jaar het podium aan bedrijven die werken aan duurzaam en circulair rubber en kunststof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCirculaire product- en materiaalinnovaties zijn inmiddels zeer talrijk en dat mag gezien worden\u201d, zegt Harold de Graaf, algemeen directeur van de NRK. \u201cVeel van onze leden passen materiaalreductie toe en verwerken gerecyclede en biobased grondstoffen. Ook zijn er talloze voorbeelden van producten die door een slim ontwerp kunnen worden hergebruikt of gerepareerd en na gebruik recyclebaar zijn.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook de leden van Plastics Europe zijn volop betrokken bij innovaties die de gehele productieketen van plastics beslaan. \u201cNaast materiaalinnovaties gaat het dan ook om procesinnovaties. Innovaties en nieuwe samenwerkingsvormen die ervoor zorgen dat meer plastic afval geschikt wordt gemaakt en beschikbaar komt voor mechanische en chemische recycling. En waardoor de afhankelijkheid van fossiele grondstoffen voor de productie van nieuwe plastics verder afneemt\u201c, zegt Drea Berghorst, directeur van Plastics Europe Nederland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tot eind mei kunnen leden van NRK- en Plastics Europe hun duurzame innovatie aanmelden via de website Rethink plastics \u2013 circulair, duurzaam en klimaatneutraal<\/a>. Een vakjury met vertegenwoordigers uit de industrie selecteert de genomineerden. Winnaars worden bepaald aan de hand van beste scores op een van de vijf R’en van het programma: Renew (grondstoffen), Reduce (productie en product), Redesign (ontwerp en gebruik), Re-use (hergebruik product) en Recycle (inzameling en recycling).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
