Hoe kunnen we versnellen naar circulaire en klimaatneutrale plastics?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit was de vraag die centraal stond bij de 5e<\/sup> editie van het Future Proof Plastics symposium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De opening was aan Kim Ragaert, Hoogleraar Circulaire Plastics aan de Universiteit van Maastricht en vice voorzitter van de stuurgroep van een door Systemiq geleide studie naar een ReShaping van het Europese plastics systeem (\u00a0ReShaping Plastics for faster systemic change towards circularity and net zero carbon emissions \u2022 Plastics Europe<\/em>)<\/a>. In haar presentatie vat ze de belangrijkste conclusies samen aan de hand van diepgaand uitgewerkte modelmatige scenario’s. Hierdoor wordt tastbaar hoe verschillende maatregelen inwerken op het plastics systeem en ze als het ware hefbomen in werking zetten. En zo blijkt dat het haalbaar is: in 2050 kan het Europese plastic systeem nagenoeg circulair zijn. Met het op gang brengen van het circulaire vliegwiel zullen stapsgewijs hoeveelheden plastic afval en emissies ook fors dalen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
