Hoe is het gesteld met het denken over plastic, plasticproductie en plastic gebruik. Plastics Europe Nederland liet dit onlangs peilen en analyseert de uitkomsten in een rapportage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

67% van de Nederlanders vindt het belangrijk tot zeer belangrijk dat we een eigen plasticindustrie overeind houden. Ook is er veel steun voor het circulair maken van plastic. Al lijken veel consumenten het ook iets te vinden wat ver van ze af staat. Het is vooral aan bedrijven en de overheid om er het voortouw in te nemen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit zijn enkele bevindingen die uit een recente opiniepeiling door Peil.nl naar voren zijn gekomen. De nulmeting geeft een eerste inzicht in de \u2018plastic paradox\u2019; opvattingen en percepties over plastic die vaak tegenstrijdig zijn en niet perse bevorderlijk voor een transitie naar circulair en klimaatneutraal plastic. Door meer inzicht hierin te vergaren wil Plastics Europe bijdragen aan een meer open en feitelijke dialoog over plastic en plasticgebruik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De olifant in de kamer op de Impact Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De opiniepeiling is begin april uitgevoerd, parallel aan de Impact Fair waar Plastics Europe met een stand aanwezig was. Het draaide er het her- en erkennen van de “roze olifant in de kamer”; vooroordelen en vooringenomen standpunten die een open en eerlijke dialoog in de weg staan. In dit opzicht dus ook een kwalitatieve toets van het beeld dat uit het opinieonderzoek naar voren kwam. Maar het leverde vooral ook tal van interessante, waardevolle en inspirerende gesprekken op. De bevestiging bovendien dat er een wereld te winnen is door te investeren meer kennis over circulair plastic en een plastic transitie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
