Plastics Europe lanza hoy la edici\u00f3n 2020 de su esperado informe anual \u201cPlastics: the Facts\u201d, con los datos 2019 de producci\u00f3n y demanda de materiales pl\u00e1sticos, as\u00ed como una ampliaci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n sobre los publicados en 2018 de gesti\u00f3n de residuos pl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los datos muestran que, a nivel mundial, la producci\u00f3n de materiales pl\u00e1sticos sigui\u00f3 aumentando en 2019, aunque a un ritmo m\u00e1s lento que en los a\u00f1os anteriores. China reafirma su posici\u00f3n de liderazgo y est\u00e1 cerca de representar un tercio de la producci\u00f3n mundial de pl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cuanto a Europa, las cifras apuntan a una disminuci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n y de la demanda de materiales pl\u00e1sticos en 2019 en comparaci\u00f3n con los niveles de 2018. Esta situaci\u00f3n se debe principalmente a una bajada de la demanda proveniente de sectores como la automoci\u00f3n, los envases y embalajes y el sector electrico-electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pesar de la desaceleraci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n y la demanda en 2019, la industria europea de los pl\u00e1sticos cerr\u00f3 el a\u00f1o con una balanza comercial positiva de m\u00e1s de 13 mil millones de euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cuanto a las perspectivas para 2020, un a\u00f1o profundamente marcado por la crisis de la COVID-19, y tras una fuerte ca\u00edda de la producci\u00f3n de materiales pl\u00e1sticos en la primera mitad del a\u00f1o, ha comenzado a recuperarse en la segunda mitad de 2020. Se espera que la recuperaci\u00f3n contin\u00fae en el \u00faltimo trimestre de 2020 y durante 2021. Sin embargo, los niveles de producci\u00f3n anteriores a la crisis probablemente no se alcanzar\u00e1n antes de 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
