Der Film der preisgekr\u00f6nten Dokumentar-Filmerin Isa Willinger zeigt ein d\u00fcsteres Bild der Kunststoffindustrie. Mit bildgewaltigen Aufnahmen von illegalen M\u00fclldeponien, Meeresm\u00fcll, Produktion- und Abfallverbrennungsanlagen, in denen gro\u00dfe Mengen fossiler Rohstoffe verarbeitet werden, r\u00fcttelt der Film Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauer auf, und mahnt zu einem nachhaltigeren Umgang mit Kunststoffen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201ePlastic Fantastic will selbstverst\u00e4ndlich provozieren\u201c, sagt Ingemar B\u00fchler, Hauptgesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer von Plastics Europe Deutschland, dem Verband der Kunststoffhersteller, der in der Dokumentation als Vertreter der Industrie ebenfalls zu Wort kommt. \u201eDer Film zeigt viele der bestehenden Probleme, die mit Plastik verbunden sind. Das ist wichtig, denn wir m\u00fcssen diese Probleme angehen. Gleichzeitig blendet der Film die laufende Transformation zur Kreislaufwirtschaft gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils aus. Zudem spiegelt er in keiner Weise die hohen Sicherheitsstandards f\u00fcr Mensch und Umwelt wider, die in der Chemie- und Kunststoffindustrie seit Jahren gelten.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>B\u00fchler erg\u00e4nzt: \u201eDer Anteil von fossilen Rohstoffen ist in der Kunststoffproduktion r\u00fcckl\u00e4ufig. Das Wachstum bei zirkul\u00e4ren Kunststoffen \u00fcbertrifft das der fossilen um das 16-fache und nahezu 10% der weltweiten Kunststoffproduktion basiert schon heute auf zirkul\u00e4ren Rohstoffen, beispielsweise auf Biomasse, oder recycelten Materialien. In Europa ist der Anteil von zirkul\u00e4ren Kunststoffen in der Kunststoffproduktion sogar doppelt so hoch, bei 19,5 Prozent. Das sind Ans\u00e4tze, die deutlich zeigen, dass ein besseres und umweltfreundlicheres Produktionssystem und positive Entwicklungen m\u00f6glich sind und gerade jetzt umgesetzt werden.
