Plastics Europe Deutschland (PED) und der Verband der Chemischen Industrie (VCI) begr\u00fc\u00dfen die Fortf\u00fchrung der Verhandlungen zu einem <a href=\"https:\/\/wedocs.unep.org\/bitstream\/handle\/20.500.11822\/39812\/OEWG_PP_1_INF_1_UNEA%20resolution.pdf\">weltweiten Abkommen<\/a> am 29. Mai in Paris und unterst\u00fctzen das \u00fcbergeordnete Ziel, die Kreislaufwirtschaft zu st\u00e4rken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beide Verb\u00e4nde bef\u00fcrworten die Einf\u00fchrung verbindlicher Recyclingquoten f\u00fcr Kunststoffe. Diese Vorgabe w\u00fcrde die weltweite Nachfrage nach recycelten Materialien erh\u00f6hen. Gleichzeitig verschafft sie der Industrie die notwendige Planungssicherheit f\u00fcr umfangreiche Investitionen in die Kreislaufwirtschaft, um das ehrgeizige Ziel des Abkommens zu erreichen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eDie Bek\u00e4mpfung der Umweltverschmutzung durch Plastikabf\u00e4lle ist eine zentrale Herausforderung unserer Zeit&#8220;, so Ingemar B\u00fchler, Hauptgesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer von PED. \u201eWir begr\u00fc\u00dfen daher die Ziele des <a href=\"https:\/\/plasticseurope.org\/de\/changing-plastics-for-good\/plastikabkommen\/\">UN-Abkommens<\/a> und sind entschlossen, die Kunststoffindustrie vom Verbrauch fossiler Ressourcen zu entkoppeln. Um Kunststoffe auch in Zukunft sinnvoll einzusetzen, m\u00fcssen sie recycelt und so lange wie m\u00f6glich im Kreislauf gef\u00fchrt werden. Daf\u00fcr braucht es zirkul\u00e4res Produktdesign, alternative Kohlenstoffquellen und alle uns zur Verf\u00fcgung stehenden Recyclingtechnologien. Auch die Vermeidung von unn\u00f6tigen Kunststoffanwendungen kann zum Erreichen des Ziels des Abkommens beitragen \u2013 allerdings m\u00fcssen daf\u00fcr harmonisierte Kriterien entwickelt werden.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eUmwelt- und Klimaschutz geh\u00f6ren zu den zentralen Anliegen unserer Branche\u201c, erg\u00e4nzt Wolfgang Gro\u00dfe Entrup, Hauptgesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer des VCI. \u201ePlastikabf\u00e4lle sind eine wertvolle Ressource und d\u00fcrfen nicht in der Umwelt landen. Wenn sie konsequent gesammelt und recycelt werden, k\u00f6nnen sie eine wichtige Rohstoffquelle f\u00fcr neue Produkte sein.
