Br\u00fcssel, 08. Juli 2025 –<\/strong> Als Reaktion auf den Bericht der zust\u00e4ndigen EU-Parlamentsaussch\u00fcsse zur Altfahrzeugverordnung (ECON\/IMCO) fordert Plastics Europe ambitionierte Recyclingziele. Virginia Janssens, Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrerin von Plastics Europe, in Br\u00fcssel, erkl\u00e4rte:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eWir begr\u00fc\u00dfen zwar den Vorschlag des Europ\u00e4ischen Parlaments, f\u00fcr Neufahrzeuge eine Recyclingquote von 20\u202f% vorzusehen. Aus unserer Sicht ist jedoch die 25\u202f%-Quote der Kommission nicht nur machbar, sondern auch unverzichtbar.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein Ziel von 25\u202f% w\u00fcrde die Nachfrage nach recycelten Kunststoffen deutlich beleben und einen wichtigen Impuls f\u00fcr die Kreislaufwirtschaft setzen. Was es jetzt braucht, sind klare politische Vorgaben, die Investitionen in zirkul\u00e4re Kunststoffe f\u00f6rdern, b\u00fcrokratische H\u00fcrden abbauen und der europ\u00e4ischen Industrie gleiche und faire Wettbewerbsbedingungen im globalen Markt erm\u00f6glichen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sehen es zudem kritisch, dass biobasierte Kunststoffe in den Zielen der Altfahrzeugverordnung keine Ber\u00fccksichtigung finden. Dies ist eine verpasste Chance. Ein zukunftssicherer Rechtsrahmen muss auch die Rolle von Kunststoffen aus nachwachsenden Ressourcen, wie biobasierten Rohstoffen in den Blick nehmen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Um Recycling zu priorisieren, schlagen wir vor, den Anteil von biobasierter und CO\u2082-basierter Kunststoffen auf maximal 5\u202f% der Zielvorgabe zu begrenzen. Das halten wir f\u00fcr einen ausgewogenen Vorschlag, der in der finalen Gesetzgebung ber\u00fccksichtigt werden sollte.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aktuell stammen nur etwa 1\u202f% der von Kunststoffverarbeitern eingesetzten Materialien aus Biomasse, vor allem aufgrund der hohen Kosten und mangelnder politischer F\u00f6rderung. Was es nun braucht, sind kluge, gezielte Anreize, um nachhaltige, kreislauff\u00e4hige Kunststoffe und biobasierte in der Breite nutzbar zu machen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir appellieren an die politischen Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger, diese Chance zu nutzen und den Weg f\u00fcr eine Regulierung zu ebnen, die Investitionen f\u00f6rdert und Europas Vorreiterrolle bei nachhaltigen Materialien und Mobilit\u00e4tsl\u00f6sungen sicherstellt.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
