Frankfurt am Main, 09.01.2025 \u2013<\/strong> Die Dokumentation Plastic Fantastic<\/em> ist ab Sonntag (12. Januar) kostenlos in der ZDF-Mediathek<\/a> abrufbar. Der Film von Isa Willinger thematisiert Umweltprobleme durch Kunststoffe und zeigt eindrucksvolle Aufnahmen von M\u00fclldeponien, Meeresverschmutzung und Produktionsanlagen. Die Dokumentation l\u00e4sst dabei sowohl Umweltaktivisten als auch Wissenschaftler und Industrievertreter zu Wort kommen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201ePlastic Fantastic r\u00fcttelt auf, und das ist gut so\u201c, sagt Dr. Christine Bunte, Hauptgesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrerin von Plastics Europe Deutschland, dem Verband der Kunststofferzeuger, \u201eDie Herausforderungen, die im Film gezeigt werden, m\u00fcssen gel\u00f6st werden. Der Film blendet allerdings gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils aus, welche Fortschritte es bereits bei der Kreislauff\u00fchrung von Kunststoffen gibt und spiegelt in keiner Weise die hohen Sicherheitsstandards f\u00fcr Mensch und Umwelt wider, die in der europ\u00e4ischen Chemie- und Kunststoffindustrie seit Jahren gelten.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laut aktuellen Zahlen zur Kunststoffproduktion bestehen 19,5 Prozent der neu produzierten Kunststoffe in Europa mittlerweile aus recycelten oder biobasierten Rohstoffen. Nach Prognosen von Plastics Europe k\u00f6nnte dieser Anteil bis 2050 auf 65 Prozent steigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
